TOGA : AW13-14
How prodigious does it feel to stumble upon such thoughtful art and design every once in a while. Yes, the web is flooded with art but sui-generis works can be tough to find. But when you do find that piece that makes you sit back and say, “all hope is not lost”, its a good feeling. After my recent introduction to the work of Japanese designer Yasuko Furuta via Style Bubble, I have a new found respect for floral prints as well as color. The fashion industries over usage of botanicals in print form has led to their enfeeblement. There is only so many times one can look at a floral print, shilouette, appliqué, etc with out feeling numbed to their charm. Yasuko Furuta’s most recent collection is bursting with this delightfulness. Perhaps Yasuko’s experience as a clothing designer for commercials has favored her with a tactful selling angle. Never going to far to the left each piece is conceived with just the right amount of wearability and imaginitiveness.
