KM RII : An It-Bag, by Lui Onozaki
Designer, Lui Onozaki creates everyday hand and shoulder bags. Onozaki is able to fuse different textures and antique details into one very refined product. Industrial-styled hardware is flooding the market. Consumers are becoming more conscious about how and where items are made. It feels good to know that an item possesses handmade quality. Workwear is trending and will continue to trend into the fall and even next summer. Onozaki picks all of his leathers and hard trims first-hand to ensure that every piece and detail is correct. Onozaki’s La Rhino shoulder bag in particular is very intricate and has quite a few edge treatments. The bag is soft black leather that is worked and tattered. The brass trims are coated with a black finish and the braided fringe/whipstitched leather add a very now element to the bags. Lui’s detailing is Alexander Wang’s camera bag, Luxirare’s white leather purse (but a rugged, beat-up version), and Wendy Nichol’s popular bullet bag: all rolled up into one.
