Kazakhstan may have just jumped on my list of top places to travel. Recently, I met some really unique business students in Boston, Massachusetts. I over heard a conversation that sounded like Russian, but noticed these particular group of kids were clearly not of Russian descent. Three of them had a very unique fashion sense. I asked for a photo and they jumped excitedly and agreed. They explained how they were all in college and living here via Kazakhstan. In an effort to capture their personal styles, I photographed them separately as well as together.

Kazakhstan is very diverse and fashion forward. I was not aware of how much of a melting pot Kazakhstan was until now. This only makes sense given that Moscow is one of the world’s largest consumers of luxury goods. The fashion industry in Kazakhstan is pretty popular as well. I’ve heard the female population outnumbers the men’s, and we all know, women are large contributors to fashion everywhere. With that said, Kazakhstan’s fashion industry must be flourishing like the rest of the world’s major cities and countries.

One of Kazakhstan’s top designers and one of my favorites is Kuralai Nurkadilova. I appreciate her usage of vibrant color, handmade embroidery, prints, and couture techniques. She stays true to her personal style. Nurkadilova has gained so much attention in Kazakhstan over the years, rumor has it, she may show at New York City’s Lincoln Center this coming February. As a point of difference, it would be interesting to see her clothing alongside New York-based designers.

  • About

Infashuated is an online fashion source. We provide intriguing articles, interviews, and imagery surrounding fashion. Our major emphasis is women’s fashion; nevertheless we do provide content surrounding Art & Design, Music, and Style Culture.

Our motto is, “Fashion is for the conceitedly opinionated, but sincere individual, not afraid to speak.” We are interested in pretty much everything fashion-related. Because the most fashionable elements can be examined in one’s everyday travels we out no boundaries on the content we post. We love fashion that is conceptual as well as commercial. The most captivating thing about fashion is, no matter how much one tries to disconnect, from fashion, inevitably he or she becomes that much more of a spectacle. Though we are slightly obsessed with fashion we fancy the term Infashuated instead.
