After viewing a long list of collections for this coming fall, I was eager to share a few behind-the-scenes photos from Thakoon’s F/W collection. From wasp waists, to full out drape silhouettes, Thakoon explored numerious variations that plenty of women would love to don. Thakoon’s rich pallete and print direction is brilliant and commendable. To provide such a concrete point of difference for fall/winter can be risky. Thakoon’s mixture of fabrics, vibrant royal blues, and saturated reds, give his outfits movement and play with ones color perception. It’s as if James Clerk Maxwell’s philosophies of color has somehow been transformed into a modern day fabrication.
Not only is Thakoon’s fall/winter collection showing his constantly evolving style, exploration, and eye for relevant designs, the collection shows Thakoon’s growth as an all-inclusive Fashion Designer. More recently Thakoon has been making large contributions outside of the fashion world. Designed along with Thakoon’s stunning F/W collection, Thakoon has featured a signature Masai plaid in the form of a scarf. The proceeds from the sale of this scarf will go to countries in Africa to help in the drought crisis. The scarfs are available via Thakoon’s website.
